Tracks

Seen close and nearly flat, cracked pavement becomes a field of bold intersecting diagonals — dark seams cutting across a mottled gray ground, meeting at a junction just off center. Scale falls away; it could be vast or inches wide.

It reads as pure gesture, closer to a brushed or scratched mark than to a road. The strong dark lines on the worn, tonal surface give it the feel of an action painting — all energy and direction, no horizon.
