Chelsea has been London's artist neighborhood since the nineteenth century — Whistler, Turner, Rossetti, Oscar Wilde all lived within a few streets of each other along the Thames. The neighborhood is now famously expensive, but the streetscape has been carefully preserved: brick terraces, painted railings, the kind of small details that reward looking.
Photographed in May 2023 during my first time in London. Chelsea is one of those neighborhoods that asks you to slow down and walk; the camera benefits from the same instruction.
