Antenna and Trees

A slender antenna mast rises dead center through a sky streaked with thin, wind-combed cloud, flanked at the bottom corners by two bare, broken tree snags standing like a matched pair of sentries. The symmetry is almost too neat to be accidental.

The mast's clean, engineered verticality plays directly against the trees' rough, amputated shapes — one line drawn by design, the others by whatever storm or disease took their tops off. Both, in the end, just stand there against the sky.
