Lake Hamilton, 2024 Sunrise

Sunrise over Lake Hamilton — the broad Arkansas lake in the Ouachita Mountains near Hot Springs, the sky lighting up over the water as the day breaks behind the hills. One more morning on a lake I keep returning to, the color and the stillness a little different each time.

Photographed at Lake Hamilton in 2024. After enough years photographing the same water, you stop trying to capture the definitive sunrise and start simply collecting them — each one its own, none of them quite repeatable.
