A wider, quieter view of the same marsh, water and sky taking up most of the frame and the shoreline reduced to a thin dark line at the bottom edge. Big-sky compositions like this one are almost unavoidable in the Lowcountry — the marsh is so flat and so open that the sky ends up doing most of the work in any given photograph. Photographed a short while after the first Goat Island image, the light and cloud cover shifting slightly between the two.
