A second view of the wheel, taken from closer in. The structure rotates at about two feet per second, slow enough that the capsules never stop — passengers step on and off as the wheel turns. From the river path beneath it, the engineering reveals itself: thirty-two capsules suspended on the outside of the rim, a single A-frame leaning the whole structure out over the Thames.
Made in May 2023 on the same South Bank afternoon. The Eye is a generous subject for photographers — almost any angle gives something different.
