A second look at Westminster Bridge, this time on its own terms — the green ironwork stretching across the Thames, the pedestrians moving against the morning traffic, the river running underneath as it has done since long before any bridge crossed it. The current bridge replaced an 18th-century span that had begun to settle and crack; this one has held since 1862.
Made in May 2023 on my first walk along the South Bank. The bridge is most often photographed for what it points toward; once in a while it deserves to be the subject.
