Live Wires

A dark mast or spar cuts a hard diagonal shadow across the frame, a fan of thin cables radiating from near its top and catching the light in bright, blown-out streaks against a soft gray ground. The image blurs at the edges, close enough to its subject that scale and context fall away.

What's left is closer to pure abstraction than documentation — line, shadow, and glare standing in for whatever structure this actually is. The title's small joke is that these wires look more alive, more electric, than any of the calmer ones elsewhere in the set.
