A fifth view of the Forum, in color this time. The site is best photographed in the soft light of early morning or late afternoon — the columns are pale, the brick is warm, and the harsh midday sun flattens the stone into something less photographically generous. Late October light in Rome, after the summer haze burns off, is some of the best of the year.

Photographed in October 2016 during my first trip to Italy.
