Firenze Scene

A scene of Florence away from the major monuments — a corner of the city where the daily life of Florentines happens. The historical center is still residential; people live in the apartments above the Renaissance shops, hang laundry from the windows that overlook the Arno, walk their dogs along the same flagstones the Medici walked.

Photographed in October 2016 in black and white during my first time in Italy. The monuments of Florence are spectacular; the streets between them are what make the city feel like a place rather than a museum.
