A classical stone portico — columns, pediment, and an arched opening — stands beneath another of Bonaventure's great oaks, ferns and sago palms growing up around its base. Small mausoleums like this one, built to resemble miniature temples, were a favorite Victorian form for families who could afford more than a simple headstone. Photographed toward the end of the morning at Bonaventure, one of the more architecturally elaborate monuments encountered along the way.
