A mourning figure, carved in white marble, sits in quiet profile atop a stone base tucked into an overgrown corner of the cemetery — palms, azaleas, and moss crowding in around her. Bonaventure's Victorian statuary was meant to be discovered this way, half-hidden by whatever the grounds had grown up around it since it was carved. Photographed from a distance to let the surrounding greenery frame the statue rather than isolating it — one of several similar figures scattered through the cemetery's older plots.
