A second view of the abbey, taken from a different approach and a different light. The west front, with its great window and twin towers added by Nicholas Hawksmoor in the 1740s, is the face most visitors first encounter. The towers were a relatively late addition to a building already six hundred years old at the time — a reminder that the abbey has never stopped being worked on.
Made in May 2023 during my first time in London. Few buildings reward repeat looking quite like Westminster Abbey; one photograph is rarely enough.
