A close, low view of a dead tree's exposed root base, its legs of bark and root forming a rough arch with more skeletal trunks visible through the gap. Getting this close changes the subject entirely — from a landscape of beach and sky to something closer to sculpture, the tree's structure the whole point of the frame. Taken while working slowly down the same stretch of boneyard beach, looking for compositions closer to the ground.
