Train Going By

A passing mass dissolves into a long silver streak racing across the frame, the rail beneath it catching a thin line of light while the night holds still around it — a dark post, distant lamps, a flare. Motion has been stretched into a single luminous sweep.

The contrast is everything: the blurred rush against the fixed dark, speed made visible as light. The eye is pulled left to right and can't quite stop, which is exactly the point.
