Three Trucks

Seen through a dusty windshield, the dashboard and wiper framing the view, three pickup trucks gather along a stretch of Interstate 20 — two pulled to the shoulder, one rolling on ahead. A line of trees and a lone streetlight stand against the overcast sky. Photographed near West Monroe, Louisiana, in 1999, the grain of the film and the haze of the glass lend the scene a soft, dreamlike remove.
