The Wrigley Building

The Wrigley Building, completed in 1924 for the chewing-gum magnate, stands at the foot of the Magnificent Mile where Michigan Avenue meets the river. Its white terra-cotta façade was designed to stay bright, and it is famously floodlit at night so it glows above the bridge. With its clock tower modeled on a cathedral's Giralda, it was one of the buildings that turned this stretch of Michigan Avenue into the city's grand front door.
