Steps

A tight, shallow-focus study of worn concrete steps climbing away — scuffed nosings, mottled and scratched surfaces, deep shadow in the risers, a single sharp tread holding focus while the rest softens. Texture is the whole subject.

It's intensely tactile, almost a portrait of wear itself. The narrow band of focus turns ordinary steps into a study of surface and plane, the rhythm of ascending edges felt as much as seen.
