Step Shadows

The shadow of a handrail zigzags down a flight of steps in a sharp, jagged diagonal, echoing the stepped geometry it falls across — bright treads, dark risers, and the black shadow-line bouncing through them. Light has drawn a second staircase on the first.

It's a crisp play of repeating angles, the kind of accidental geometry that only appears for a moment in the right light. The eye follows the zigzag down and reads the whole thing as pattern before it remembers what made it.
