A sailboat moored on Cross Lake — the reservoir on the western edge of Shreveport, Louisiana, that has supplied the city's water and its weekend sailing for the better part of a century. The lake is shallow and broad, ringed with cypress, and on a calm day the moored boats sit almost motionless on their reflections.

Photographed on Cross Lake in 1997 — the oldest image in this collection, and one of the places that first got me looking at water and light seriously.
