Lines with Partial Arrow

A single wire runs in a long, shallow diagonal across the top of the frame, high above a flat expanse of pavement marked with a painted arrow, only its tail visible at the very bottom edge. Low buildings and a thin tree line sit at the horizon, everything softened by grain and haze.

Two kinds of directional mark end up sharing the frame — the wire's implied trajectory overhead and the arrow's explicit one underfoot — without ever quite pointing the same way, which is most of what makes the image interesting.
