Forum Ruins

A sixth Forum frame, this one in vertical orientation and at a more architectural scale. The Forum is more than two thousand years old as a public space, but the photograph of any given moment in it is a temporary thing — light, shadow, a passing tourist, an angle. The columns will outlast the image; the image is what it is for one second.

Made in October 2016 in black and white during my first time in Italy.
