Morning fog lifting off Lake Hamilton — that hour when the water is warmer than the air and the lake breathes a low mist that the first sun begins to burn away. The far shore comes and goes behind it, and for a while the boundary between water and sky disappears entirely.

Photographed in October 2017. Breaking fog is one of the things you can't plan for and can't repeat — it depends on the exact difference between water and air temperature on a given morning, and it's gone within the hour.
