The Arch of Titus stands at the eastern end of the Forum, on the Via Sacra. Built around 81 AD by Domitian to commemorate the deification of his brother Titus and Titus's victories in the Jewish War, the arch's reliefs depict the spoils of the Temple of Jerusalem being carried in triumph — including the menorah, which has become one of the most reproduced images of Jewish history. The arch is one of the best-preserved Roman triumphal arches anywhere.
Photographed in October 2016 in black and white during my first time in Italy.
